USN BA-2 Denim Cap
The name of "Experimental Garment" is attractive for us. I found this Experimental Cap in the pile of the US NAVY Surplus Clothing in 1975. The cap itself was surely from 40s. The top pattern which seemed to be taken from WWII Flying Helmet, the Long Square Visor which seemed to be designed to shut down from the sunshine for flying, are unique. If the "BA-2" which was hand written by a yellow paint at the sweatband was omitted as the name of BuAero.(US NAVY Flying Dept.), it might be the " NAVY Flying Cap Type BA-2". Anyhow, the Experimental Garments make our imagination stir up.
